SYNC4000 is a high end server platform that hosts a number of processing-intensive SYNC applications as listed below:
High End Gateway: The SYNC field level gateway solution is available on this platform to provide large-scale protocol data acquisition with all supported protocols, with the same SYNC7000 engineering and configuration interface. This enables this particular SYNC4000 derivative to act as a large Front End Processor to concentrate several channels of protocol input/output (via terminal servers / modem banks) and provide a LAN interface to the concentrated data.
Super PDC (Phasor Data Concentrator): SYNC4000 hosts the super PDC function facilitating the collection of multiple PMU streams (upto 1000 PMUs) implementing the IEEE C37.118 Synchrophasor protocol. The collected data can be made available through a connected database. An additional option provides for an integration of the Synchrophasor data to IEC61850 using the field proven SYNC gateways firmware solution.
ICCP-Bridge: A popular application hosted on the SYNC4000 platform provides options to intermediate between various control centers employing the ICCP (TASE.2) protocol standard. This application can act as a bridge between multiple control centers and provide many-to-many mapping of ICCP data
